Zustimmung.Petrus würde mir von den 3en am besten gefallen. Danach hätte ich Chaney.
Wie siehts denn mit nem FB aus? Jetzt könnte die Zeit gekommen sein. Bis jetzt ist noch keiner weg, aber wenn man einen guten haben möchte sollte man jetz vielleicht schon zuschlagen. Was denkt ihr?

Ich denke auch, dass spätestens jetzt noch einmal die O-Line addressiert werden sollte. Petrus macht Sinn. 

Für die OLine werf ich hier nochmal Ciron Black, LSU in die Runde. Hat bei LSU LT gespielt und gehört mit 6-4.5-328 eher zu den größeren schweren Jungs. Ist sehr talentiert, lässt aber manchmal die Zügel etwas schleifen. Viele Scouts sind der Ansicht, dass er in der NFL eher auf RT oder noch besser auf OG landen sollte. Erinnert mich vom Typ her sehr an Carl Nicks (Nebraska), der ebenfalls OT  gespielt hat und von den Saints in Runde 5 gedraftet wurde und jetzt dort mit großem Erfolg als Guard aufläuft. In Runde 5 imho ein Schnäppchen.

Ansonsten ist mein Wunschspieler für unseren nächsten Pick mit TJ Ward leider weg.

Als andere Optionen sehe ich noch ILB Jamar Chaney oder vielleicht TE's Tony Moeaki und JImy Graham (ist aber weniger ein Blocking TE, könnte als ehemaliger Basketballspieler ein klasse Red-Zone-Target abgeben).

Chaney und Petrus wurden auch bereits genommen.

Noch drei Picks vor uns (Chiefs, Jaguars, nochmal Chiefs), dann sind wir dran. Weg sind inzwischen:

- TE Tony Moeaki #137 an Browns
- OG Mitch Petrus #140 an Bills
- ILB Jamar Chaney #141 an Bears

Ich hätte noch OG Shawn Lauvao. Was haltet ihr von dem?

Der Bericht von Black bei Sporting News ist ziemlich vernichtend:

Strengths: Is quick and athletic and can be as good as he wants to be. Shows the quickness to slide outside and cut-off explosive edge rushers when maintaining good balance and keeping his feet moving. Shows the speed to get outside and lead block on screen passes. Is quick reaching the second level and -- when keeping knees bent and maintaining balance -- eliminating linebackers. Flashes ability to be a dominant side blocker, driving his man down the line and collapsing the entire side of the defense to create huge holes.

Weaknesses: Is highly inconsistent. Gets beaten way more than a player with his talent should. Shows lazy technique. Most of the time, tries to block by leaning and reaching to make contact instead of moving his feet and bends at the waist, overextends and whiffs. In pass protection, consistently stops his shuffle once he makes contact and gets beaten inside or outside way too easily.

Bottom line: Black is a highly publicized prospect, but it sure doesn't show on the field. On film, he looks terrible. Black has the quickness and athleticism to be an NFL starter, but his production warrents only a late-round gamble. Black is sure to impress in postseason workouts and at the NFL Scouting Combine because of his athleticism. He no doubt will be drafted much higher than he should because some coach will become convinced he can tap into his natural talent.

Die Berichte über Black belegen im Prinzip auch das, was ich über ihn weiß, sehr talentiert, aber sehr unkonstant, ist wohl jemand der Feuer unterm Hintern braucht und nicht immer das zeigt, was er kann. Die Frage ist, ist er das Risiko wert?

Pulling/trapping: Not often asked to pull from his left tackle position, but has quick feet and good balance for the trap block. At least moderate overall agility and straight-line speed. Has enough flexibility to catch defenders crashing inside, showing the recovery speed necessary for early play in the NFL.

Initial Quickness: Doesn't have the initial quickness in his kick-step to remain outside in the NFL, but has plenty if protected if inside. Gets a good initial pop on the defender to knock him off the ball in the running game. Good quickness and speed to get to the second level.

Downfield: Good mobility. Is quick off the snap and can get to the second level fluidly. Knows his assignment and works to get to his man. Won't wow you with his flexibility, but can readjust to the moving target to deliver a solid initial blow. Doesn't latch on and sustain, however, due to marginal hand placement and a tendency to lunge at the defender.

Intangibles: Team captain. Hard worker. Has to be kicked out of the weight room. Placed second in the Hawaii Strong Man Competition when he was 16 (16-18-year-old age bracket) ... Bench presses 420 pounds, squats 500 and power cleans 300. Began playing football his junior season in high school. Earned the McBurney Scout Team Award, given annually to ASU's most outstanding offensive scout team player in 2005. Earned his Bachelor's degree in educational sociology in three and a half years and is working on his master's in secondary education.

Mir sagt Lauvao mehr zu. Ich denke auch, dass bei ihm die Einstellung stimmt, und er sofort für Konkurrenzdruck sorgen kann.

  In der fünften Runde wirst du wahrscheinlich eh keinen Topstar finden, und irgendwas ist ja sowieso immer.    Aber Lauvao sagt mir auch mehr zu.

Ich hab auch nochmal etwas genauer recherchiert und ziehe hiermit Ciron Black offiziell aus dem Rennen zurück. Lauvao scheint nicht spektakulär zu sein, sondern ein solider, flexibel einsetzbarer OLiner, der hinter (einem hoffentlich gesunden) Chester Pitts (bei den 49ers) lernen kann. 

Ich bin für Black an dieser Stelle. War auch seinerzeit schon für Carl Nicks und hoffe nach wie vor, dass Chester Pitts uns noch verstärken wird .
