...and the return man starts to run. He almost collides with a teammate and loses his balace but stays on his feet. But he makes it only to the 12 before he is pushed out of bounds.

Boy, things have not been going well for the Malfs late in the second quarter.

So, the Malfs will have to start their next and probably final possession of the first half at their own 12 with 1:36 on the clock when we come back.

We're back with probably the final possession of the half. The Malfs, trailing by 10, start at their own 12.

The QB takes the snap, delayed handoff to the running back but the defense doesn't buy it and the running back is stopped in the backfield for a loss of about 3 yds. And they call a timeout.

Ref: "Timeout malfunxionistz. It's their first team timeout."

So, that stops the clock at 1:24. One could have thought they 'd be willing to let the clock run down that deep inside their own territory and that the Kobras might be interested in stopping the clock, but anyway.

Here's the snap, another delayed handoff to the running back, he finds a gap, gets a First Down, breaks a tackle, avoids another one, AND HE HAS BLOCKERS! HE MIGHT GO ALL THE WAY! HE'S IN MIDFIELD, HAS TO AVOID ONE MORE TACKLE AND DOES! HE'S GONE!!! AT THE 30... THE 20... THE 10... TOUCHDOWN MALFS, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!
But wait a second, there's a flag back at the line of scrimmage, this might be coming back.

Ref: "Illegal procedure, Offense. Half the distance to the goal, repeat second down."

Oh my... Indeed, replays show the man in motion wasn't set properly. Another huge blow for the Malfs. That would have been a 91-yd touchdown run. Instead their back at their own 5.

Here's the snap, here comes pressure, the QB throws a screen... HE HAS NO ROOM, THEY MIGHT GET HIM FOR A SAFETY! HE TRIES TO ESCAPE TO THE OUTSIDE and just makes it out of the endzone. He's pushed out of bounds for a loss of another 3 yds.
Holy cow, it's 3rd-and-20 at their own 2 and the clock is stopped at 60 seconds. The Kobras might even get another shot to put more points on the board before halftime.

So, the Malfs punting unit is on the field with 48 seconds left on the clock in the first half. They have to punt it away out of their own endzone. Remember, they've had a punt blocked earlier in this game.

Here's the snap... AND IT'S BLOCKED AGAIN!!! The ball bounces in the endzone, who's gonna get it?! Players are all over the ball. Is it a safety or a touchdown? We have to wait for the signal.
AND THE KOBRAS HAVE IT FOR A TOUCHDOWN, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? THE CROWD IS GOING NUTS!!!
It's another touchdown for the Kobras only one minute and twelve seconds after they scored their first one. And more and more things are going down the drain big-time for the Malfs.

hab ich den blocked-punt-for-a-touchdown auch endlich hinter mir, ich dachte schon wo der bleibt.  damit hab ich fuer die zweite halbzeit nur noch je einen punt-, kick- und interception-return-td uebrig.  das sind bloss noch 3 touchdowns fuer die kobras, wird eng fuer sie werden am ende... ob das reicht? ;-)

Sollte ich mich in zugschefs erben umbenennen?
