Hello and welcome everybody to the next game of the 2009 Football Fever preseason.  It's a beautiful day for football as the Golden Wasps take on duffeldoffel's Reds.

The Wasps are 0-2 and are hopeful to land their first victory, after getting beat 6-34 by the dieselz in the opener, and suffering a heartbraking last-second 21-22 loss to the malfunxionistz.  On the other side of the field, the Reds and their coach duffeldoffel are looking forward to a good start in their franchise history.

Ref: "Gentlemen, welcome to the coin toss.  The Reds are the away team, so they have the call.  "Home team" is heads, "Away team" is tails.  Reds' captain, what is your call?"

Boy, the Reds' kicker must have a strong leg.  The ball sails through the air, all the way beyond the end zone, giving the Wasps 1st-and-10 on their on 20 yard line.  Wow, what a kick!  But wait, there's a penalty marker on the field, and it appears to be against the Wasps.

The quarterback feels the pressure and dumps off the flare screen to his fullback, who barely makes it back to the line of scrimmage, no gain.

... the running back sweeps to the right, but doesn't get a block by the wide receiver and is caught by the corner after a couple of yards... AND HE LOSES THE BALL, but it hops out of bounds before anybody could try to recover it.  So that's about it for the Wasps' first drive, I guess they'll have to punt it away.

... the quarterback takes a three step drop and slings the quick pass to the motion man.  The Wasps outside linebacker remains alert and hustles him out of bounds immediately, no gain.  This brings up third and long, both teams are off to a slow start.

... they try to surprise the defense and hand the ball off to the running back who flies out to the sideline, but he gets nowhere as the receivers are unable to open a hole for him.  But wait, there's a flag on the field.  Let's hear what the ref says.

Oh my, that doesn't help the Reds, but it doesn't really hurt either, as their drive would have been over no matter what.
