Wir melden uns live aus der Eyebowl zum Regular-Season Finale der frisch gekürten Southern Division Champions.

Die heimischen Eagle Eyes (4-1) treffen heute auf owl49er's billygoats (1-4), die leider bereits aus dem Playoff-Rennen ausgeschieden sind.

Die Eagle Eyes sind zwar dank der jüngsten Niederlage der Dicey Beasts bereits sicherer Divisional Champion, das heißt aber nicht zwingend, dass sie sich heute ausruhen werden. Sie können nämlich noch den Nr. 1 Seed ergattern, wenn sie gleichzeitig etwas Schützenhilfe von frontmodes Kobras bei den Deichclimbers erhalten.

Die Serie

Das bisher einzige Aufeinandertreffen gewannen die 'goats im heimischen "The Shieling" mit 38-14 in Week 5 der Season IV.

billygoats (1-4)

Die 'goats haben seit ihrem Auftaktsieg vier Spiele in Folge verloren und somit auch alle Hoffnungen auf die Playoffs. Zuletzt gaben sie gegen die Deichclimbers einen frühen 21-Punkte-Vorsprung wieder aus der Hand. Für sie geht es also nur noch um einen positiven Saisonausklang.

Die Offense der 'goats belegt insgesamt Platz 8 (213,8 yds/Spiel) in der Liga. Am Boden ist es ebenfalls Platz 8 (121,0), durch die Luft Platz 5 (92,8).

Ihre Defense rangiert insgesamt auf Platz 6 (328,8) . Dabei belegen sie gegen den Lauf Platz 7 (220,6), gegen den Pass Platz 5 (108,2).

Mit einem Turnover Ratio von minus-1 belegen die 'goats immerhin Platz 5. Mit 13 Takeaways ist es sogar Platz 2, mit 14 Giveaways Platz 6. Minus-15 Netto-Points-off-Turnovers bedeuten ebenfalls Platz 5. Dabei ist es Platz 3 mit 43 erzielten und Platz 8 mit 58 zugelassenen Punkten nach Turnovers.

Eagle Eyes (4-1)

Die Eagle Eyes gehen mit dem Rückenwind zweier Siege in Folge in das Spiel. Dabei gab es zuletzt ein 18-9 gegen die diese Saison sehr starken Kobras, auf deren Schützenhilfe sie hinsichtlich des Nr. 1 Seeds noch hoffen, wie eingangs erwähnt.

Die Offense der Eagle Eyes belegt insgesamt Platz 6 (271,2 yds/Spiel) in der Liga. Am Boden ist es Platz 6 (141,4), durch die Luft Platz 2 (129,8).

Ihre Defense rangiert insgesamt nur auf Platz 7 (335,8). Gegen den Lauf ist es sogar nur der 8. und letzte Platz (249,0), dafür gegen den Pass Platz 3 (86,8).

Bei den Turnovers rangieren sie mit einem Turnover von Plus-4 und Minus-1 Netto-Points-off-Turnovers jeweils auf Platz 4. 11 Takeaways (Platz 5) stehen 7 Giveaways (Platz 2) gegenüber. Sie haben 22 Points-off-Turnovers erzielt (Platz 5) und deren 23 hingenommen (Platz 3).

Dass sie trotz eher durchschnittlicher Zahlen 4-1 stehen, davon drei Siege mit 3 oder weniger Punkten Unterschied, zeugt von ihrer Effektivität und Nervenstärke.

Prediction

Auch wenn die 'goats die Playoffs nicht mehr erreichen können, werden sie sicherlich versuchen, einen Überraschungssieg zu landen, um mit einem positiven Moment in die nächste Saison zu gehen. Man wird sehen, ob und wie sich die knappe Niederlage nach deutlicher Führung gegen die 'Climbers auf ihr Gemüt auswirkt.

Die Eagle Eyes dürften mit einem sehr positiven Gefühl in ihr Regular-Season Finale gehen, wissend, dass sie in den Playoffs auf jeden Fall auch noch ein Heimspiel haben werden. Als Nr. 2 Seed würden sie auf die starken Kobras treffen, denen sie - trotz des jüngsten Erfolges im direkten Duell - vielleicht lieber doch aus dem Weg gehen möchten.

Das ist in der Tat kurios für ein 5-1 Team, auch wenn noch ein TD durch die Defense dazukommt, die auch nur deren drei zugelassen hat.

22 (von 23) Field Goals in 6 Spielen ist allerdings ein Brett. :D

Das Problem - wenn es eines gibt - sind nur 31,3 Prozent TD-Erfolgsquote in der Red Zone.
